How many heatwave-related deaths reported in Karachi in June?

Several individuals have lost their lives due to heatstroke in Karachi.

According to details, as temperatures rise in Karachi, the increased humidity in the air makes the heat feel more intense compared to the actual temperature, potentially leading to dehydration and the risk of heat exhaustion.

From June 21 to July 1, the number of fatalities due to heatstroke in Karachi has risen to 49. The Sindh Health Department reports that today, four individuals succumbed to heatstroke at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The Health Department has disclosed that Abbasi Shaheed Hospital recorded the highest number of deaths due to heatstroke, with 23 fatalities, while Civil Hospital reported 18 cases. Additionally, three individuals passed away at Qatar Hospital due to heatstroke.

Five individuals lost their lives to heatstroke at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center. Authorities are advising citizens to stay indoors unnecessarily, drink water frequently, and adopt other safety precautions to prevent heatstroke.
