India’s model and actress Poonam Pandey has passed away at the age of 32 only due to cancer.
As per social media and Indian news outlets, the model passed away last night due to cervical cancer. Her team on social media confirmed the news of her death from her official Instagram account.
The Bollywood actor-model often mades it to the headlines for her bold looks and videos which gradually made her somewhat queen of controversies. Let’s have a brief look at some of the controversies the actor was associated with.
World Cup and strip show
During the 2011 World Cup, Poonam grabbed headlines after declaring that she’d strip down if India won the World Cup. She even sent a letter to the BCCI seeking permission. After not getting the required ‘permission’, she posted some semi-nudes on social media as a special surprise for everyone, on account of the victory of India.
Controversial bathroom video
Poonam once created a stir on the internet when she leaked one of her videos on social media wherein, she was seen dancing in the bathroom. Later, this video was blocked by YouTube.
Debut movie ‘Nasha’
Poonam’s debut movie Nasha, which was based on the story of a young boy falling for his teacher, came under the scanner after the posters of the movie were tagged as ‘vulgar’ by some religious groups and were pulled down.
Poonam’s app removed
In 2017, she launched her own app to reach out to her fans exclusively. However, yet again, her app was banned and pulled down on the Play Store for being objectionable.

In February 2020, Poonam Pandey filed a legal complaint against businessman Raj Kundra and his business associates, accusing them of illegally using her content after their contract had expired.
