In Pakistan, especially in Karachi, the weather throughout the year is mostly hot and humid due to the Arabian Sea. With every passing year, the temperature in the city has been rising and badly affects everyday life.
Stepping out on a hot summer day can be a real challenge. The sweat and heat can easily lead to dehydration and make you feel lethargic. Here are five heatwave hacks to help you cool down in the summer.
1) Dress light
During summer, a light dressing is the right dressing. Try to wear fabric like lawn or cotton to will prevent the body from overheating.
2) Avoid caffeine
Hot beverages like coffee and tea can act as diuretics as too much caffeine in the hot weather raises body temperature and can make you feel hotter.
3) Stay hydrated
Consume more water than you usually do, even if you are not thirsty. You sweat more when the temperature’s hot, drinking water helps replenish the fluids lost by excessive sweating.
4) Try to stay indoors
Try your best to stay indoors especially during daylight from 11 am to 4 pm. The weather during this time is quite hot, the rays directly affect you and can cause dehydration.
5) Consume fruits
Eat fresh foods that do not require you to use the oven or stove to prepare. Try to avoid eating spit and hot foods instead eat dark leafy greens, which have high-water content.
