The incidents of robbery and looting in Pakistan have made the people miserable, especially in Karachi is topping the chart, there are many incidents of robberies taking place in the port city on a daily basis. The ruthless robbers even do not hesitate to take anyone’s life.
In such a situation, there is a large number of citizens who are thinking of possessing arms, for which it is very important to obtain a license. MM News visited an arms shop in Karachi’s Sadar area and discussed the procedure for obtaining a license and the popular pistols among citizens.
The owner of a shop told MM News that there are three types of quota for issuing licenses in Karachi, one is the DC quota, the second is CM quota and the third is the Home Secretary quota.
Each area DC has a quota of 50 per month, the DC issues a token, and after that, the person has to go for biometrics, fingerprints, and police verification and after all the procedures the documents are sent to the home department.
The documents after going through the scanning process get finally printed. According to the shopowner, the process normally takes at least one to one and a half months for a person to get an arm-licensee.
He said that after obtaining the license, people buy pistols according to their range, Pakistani pistols are available for Rs35 to 40 thousand in the market, while original pistols are available for up to 100,000, including Turkey, Brazil and China and other countries.
Regarding the pistols made by Pakistan, he said that at first Pakistan was not producing such good pistols, but now, especially in Peshawar, weapons are being made very well, like CN, Zegana and Breta copies of all these are being made very well.
However, giving his opinion regarding Pakistani pistols, he said that Pakistani pistols are not good for self-defense because you cannot rely on them 100%, so it is better to use Chinese or any other country’s pistols for self-defense.
He said about the standard pistols found in the shop that the best Russian pistols are available at the moment.
