Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra Part One: Shiva is one of the most anticipated movies in Bollywood this year.
From the cast, and plot to direction and production; everything is a big budget, and glamourous. The movie which will be released this weekend on 9th September is touted to be one of Bollywood’s most aspirational projects.
Here’s everything you need to know about filmmaker Ayan Mukerji’s highly anticipated movie:
- Brahmastra is a fantasy-adventure love story that is based on Indian mythology.
- Brahmastra Part One: Shiva will also be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
- The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles.

- The film was initially slated for its release in December 2016. However, it was delayed by several years. In October 2017, the makers again made the announcement of the film’s release in August 2019, which was soon pushed to Christmas 2019, due to pending work on the film’s VFX and music.
- According to a report from Box Office Worldwide, Shah Rukh Khan will play the role of a scientist who wields the Vānarāstra. SRK will appear in a cameo role in the film.

- Other than Shah Rukh Khan, the report further mentioned that Deepika Padukone will be seen portraying the role of Jal Devi (Water Goddess) and Madhuri Dixit will be seen playing the role of Goddess Durga in Brahmastra Part One: Shiva.
- Industry and trade sources stated, “Brahmastra will have the widest release ever for a Hindi film. It comes at a time when theatres are starved for content. There’s also tremendous excitement.”
