The International Cricket Council (ICC) has planned a closing ceremony for the ICC World Cup 2023 which is set to reach its conclusion at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad today.
Australia, looking for their sixth World Cup, will lock horns with India, who eye their first ICC trophy since 2013, in the much-anticipated final where more than 100,000 spectators are expected to watch the showdown between two powerhouses.
A four-phase closing ceremony has been arranged by the ICC which will take place from 12:30pm local time (1:00pm PST).
Firstly, the Indian Air Force will do a 10-minute airshow before the commencement of the match at 1:35pm local time under the leadership of their top-flight commander.
The second phase will take place during the first innings drinks break where a renowned music producer, known for his work in Coke Studio India, Aditya Gandhi will make the audience fall in love with his voice. He is expected to sing his most recent viral composition Khalasi which has been all over the internet.
The third phase will be during the innings break where the prominent Bollywood music producer Pritam Chakraborty will grace the stage, he is the one who composed the World Cup 2023 anthem “Dil Jashn Jashn Bole”. Other singers like Jonita Gandhi, Nakash Aziz, Amit Mishra, Akasha Singh and Tushar Singh will accompany Pritam.
At last, there will be a light and laser show during the second innings drinks break and that would be the end of the closing ceremony of the ICC World Cup 2023.
It must be noted that an intense encounter is expected between India and Australia. The two sides began their World Cup campaign by taking on one another where the home side emerged winners as Australia could only post 199 runs on the scoreboard while batting first but they did manage to give an early scare to the home side as they had lost three wickets for just two runs in the first two overs but Virat Kohli and KL Rahul stood tall and made the difference for the struggling Indian side.
