Hamas released two more Israeli hostages namely Yarden Bibas and Ofer Kalderon on Saturday as part of the ongoing truce aimed at concluding the 15-month conflict in Gaza.
The Israeli military verified the receipt of Kalderon, a dual national of France and Israel, along with Bibas after they were handed over to a Red Cross representative in Khan Younis, located in southern Gaza.
Siegel is expected to be delivered at the Gaza City seaport later on Saturday.
Bibas is the father of two young hostages, his infant son Kfir, who was just 9 months old at the time of his abduction by Hamas militants on October 7, 2023, and his 4-year-old son Ariel, who was also taken during the cross-border assault.
Additionally, Saturday is expected to mark the first instance of Palestinians traveling from Gaza to Egypt via the newly reopened Rafah crossing.
Initially, the crossing will accommodate 50 injured militants and 50 wounded civilians, along with their escorts, with an additional 100 individuals, likely students, expected to be permitted passage on humanitarian grounds.
The handover on Saturday proceeded without the chaotic scenes that characterized an earlier transfer on Thursday, during which Hamas guards struggled to protect hostages from a surging crowd in Gaza.
