ISLAMABAD: Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh to chair the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting in Islamabad tomorrow.
During the meeting, the cabinet will review the consumption of urea fertilizer for the next financial year. The committee will also consider tariff adjustments for the period starting July 2016 till March 2019.
The ECC meeting will further review the policy guidelines on sale and purchase of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), while also reviewing the current economic situation in the country due to the coronavirus.

Earlier on 26th June, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing called on the Adviser to Abdul Hafeez Shaikh to discuss several matters of mutual interest where Shaikh appreciated the continuous and unwavering support that China has been providing to Pakistan as a true iron brother.
Reviewing the serious social and economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic across the globe, Dr. Shaikh apprised the Ambassador of the wide-reaching measures that the Government of Pakistan had taken, and was further planning, for the provision of much-needed relief to mitigate the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially on the low-income and vulnerable groups.
