PESHAWAR: A security guard was killed and an oil company employee was abducted on Thursday as terrorists attacked an oil well site in Hangu.
According to police, terrorists attacked the oil installation of a private company in Adam Banda area. They killed a security guard at the site and abducted the company’s work supervisor.
Police said the bushes and dry grass at the site were set on fire, however, the wellhead has been safe. The terrorists have also damaged solar plates with gunfire, police further said.
It is to be mentioned here that oil and gas has been discovered at the Hangu Formation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Adam Banda is a remote area of southern district Hangu, located around 94 km southwest of Kohat near Gurguri oil field.
A day earlier, Security forces conducted an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) on Wednesday over the presence of terrorists in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during an intense exchange of fire, terrorist Saddam was killed in the IBO. A huge cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from his possession.
The army’s military wing said terrorist Saddam was an expert in Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) planting and was involved in terrorist activities against law enforcement agencies, target killings, and kidnapping for ransom.
