RIYADH: Prime Minister Imran Khan’s green diplomacy is likely to provide thousands of jobs to Pakistanis in Arab countries.
In the first phase, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have inked an agreement on Wednesday. It would be followed by similar agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, and Bahrain in the second phase.

Pakistanis will work to support plantation drives in Saudi Arabia and its neighbours. Pakistan will be supplying seeds, seedlings and trees to the Arab countries.
It will also provide technical support for the plantation.

The agreement covers the following key points:
- A group of experts would be formed
- Pakistan will help Saudi Arabia to grow forests and end marine pollution
- Seedlings would be grown in Pakistani nurseries and sent to Saudi Arabia
- Gardners and other workers would be sent to Saudi Arabia
- The two countries will share data and expertise
The project is expected to generate tens of thousands of jobs, according to goeverment officials.
Pakistan holds the honour of planting a large number of trees at a minimum cost.
