ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Shibli Faraz has termed the opposition’s resignations ‘a drama’, reiterating that the PTI-led federal government would not come under any pressure of opposition’s blackmailing.
“They will never forward their resignations to the Speaker,” Shibli claimed while addressing a news conference in Islamabad today (Friday) along with Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur,
The Information Minister further said that they were not in contact with the opposition leaders. “It is a transparent and democratically elected government and in case of any dialogue, it will be open,” he remarked.
Shibli Faraz, however, said that said several MNAs and MPAs of the opposition parties have contacted us who are not willing to submit the resignations. “They will fail in their designs and they have no political future,” he added
“Their state of mind and bewilderment demonstrates that their politics stands buried,” he added. The federal minister categorically stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan will not give any NRO to the corrupt leaders.
He regretted that the opposition parties were endangering the lives of the people by holding public gatherings amidst the rising trend of COVID-19. “We are not scared of their gatherings as it is their democratic right but we are concerned over the increasing number of COVID-19 cases,” he added.
The federal minister once again urged the opposition to defer their gatherings for two to three months for the lives of the people. Speaking on the occasion, Ali Amin Gandapur said that Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman’s motive to participate in the anti-government campaign was to protect his looted money.
He said that Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman remained in contact with foreign elements to conspire against Pakistan. “We have collected concrete evidence about Benami properties of Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman worth billions of rupees,” he concluded.
