ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi has directed the government to take notice of former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s uncivil behavior and said that they do not want to be a state against human rights.
In his message on X, formally known as Twitter, the president said, “We have to avoid becoming a state where human rights and dignity are violated without risk.” He asserted, “The authorities have to pay attention to cases of confiscation of nomination papers and atrocities on protests.”
In an X message, the president said that the authorities should also pay attention to the indecent treatment of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who held the position of Foreign Minister in the last two governments. “Arguing that such incidents have happened in the past does not justify the current situation,” he stated.
Let us not become a state where human rights & dignity are trampled upon with impunity. Incidents of paper snatching, brutal action on protestors, and now treating an ex foreign minister from two regimes in an undignified manner must draw the attention of the authorities.…

The president directed to improve the situation of human rights and said, “In the current situation, Pakistan has to change its role and if we as a nation are satisfied with this, then there is no better day than today to start this work.”
It should be noted that Dr. Arif Alvi assumed the office of the President on September 4, 2018, after former Prime Minister Imran Khan came to power. Arif Alvi, who made a name for himself as a dentist by profession, was also a member of the National Assembly for a long time.
