ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Education and Professional Training has devised a plan to introduce outdoor gyms in its model schools and colleges to enhance students’ physical fitness and well-being.
An official from the ministry stated that this initial phase is part of a larger initiative aimed at promoting physical fitness and well-being among students, recognizing the intrinsic connection between a healthy body and a sound mind.
Last month, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training launched a cleanliness campaign in Islamabad’s public sector schools and colleges regulated by the Federal Directorate of Education.
The initiative comes at the direction of education secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani to ensure clean learning environments in educational institutions, according to officials. The ministry tasked the National Commission for Human Development with leading the cleanliness campaign at Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB), I/8-3. A team of NCHD directors and departmental heads went to the school to participate in the drive.
The ministry intends to further expand this initiative to more schools and colleges, offering students accessible and engaging opportunities to stay active and healthy.
