ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, the federal cabinet postponed the appointment of a new Inspector-General Police (IGP) Sindh after the government’s allies raised “strong concerns” about the decision.
Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting, announced that a list of names to replace Sindh IGP Dr Kaleem Imam has been addressed at their meeting on Monday between the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister Sindh.

“Most of our cabinet allies, including those from Sindh and Karachi, expressed serious concerns about the names of the panel presented by the province to the federal government for new Sindh IGP,” Awan said.
She further said PM Imran had asked Sindh Governor Imran Ismail to make a consensus on the appointment of the new IGP with Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah.
