The Federal Cabinet Division has released the official schedule of public holidays for 2025, outlining key religious and national occasions.
This comprehensive list provides clarity for individuals, businesses, and government entities, enabling effective planning for the year.
According to the announcement, the first public holiday will be observed on February 5 for Kashmir Day, followed by March 23 for Pakistan Day and Youm-e-Takbeer in May. Eidul Fitr holidays will take place in late March, marking the end of Ramadan.
Labour Day will be observed on May 1, while Eidul Azha holidays are scheduled from June 7 to 9. Ashura holidays for Muharram will be observed on July 5 and 6, with Independence Day on August 14 and Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) on September 5 or 6. The calendar concludes with Iqbal Day on November 9 and Quaid-e-Azam’s Birthday on December 25.
Optional holidays include Shab-e-Meraj on January 28 and Shab-e-Barat on February 14 for Muslims observing these traditions. Non-Muslims will also have optional holidays for cultural and religious events, including Basant Panchami, Shivratri, Holi, Dulahandi, Good Friday, Easter, Baisakhi, Eid-ul-Rizwan for the Baha’i community, Buddhist Purnima, and Nowruz (the Parsi New Year).
