KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan on Wednesday registered massive decrease as the yellow metal was priced at Rs228,300 per tola after shedding Rs1,800 during the day.
The rates released by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) show that the 10-gram gold was sold for Rs195,730, down Rs1,544.
The price of gold in Pakistan dropped by Rs. 100 per tola on Tuesday.
The international cost for gold was established at $2,179 per ounce on Wednesday with a premium of $20, according to APGJSA, following a $18 fall in the global market.
Meanwhile, silver rates remained stable at Rs2,600 per tola.
Moreover, the Pakistani rupee registered a marginal gain against the US dollar, appreciating 0.11% in the inter-bank market on Wednesday. At close, the local unit settled at 278.79, a gain of Re0.29, against the greenback, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
On Monday, the rupee registered a marginal decline to settle at 279.08 against the US dollar, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
