KARACHI: Gold prices on Wednesday increased in Pakistan in line with the increase in the international rate.
The yellow metal was priced at Rs225,400 per tola after gaining Rs1,500 during the day.
The All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) provided prices that show that the 10-gram gold was sold for Rs193,244 following an increase of Rs1,286.6.
Pakistan’s gold prices rose by Rs 2,700 per tola on Tuesday.
The international cost for gold was fixed at $2,148 per ounce on Wednesday with a $20 premium, according to APGJSA, following a $13 increase in the international market.
Meanwhile, silver rates remain unchanged per tola to settle at Rs2,600.
Moreover, the Pakistani rupee registered marginal improvement against the US dollar, appreciating 0.08% during the opening hour of trading in the inter-bank market on Wednesday.
In the early trade, the rupee was hovering at 279.10, a gain of Re0.21 against the greenback.
On Tuesday, the rupee registered a marginal decline to settle at 279.31 against the US dollar, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
