Indian gold medalist powerlifter has passed away after 270 kg bar falls on her neck, weak-hearted individuals advised not to watch the video.
As reported by Indian media, 17-year-old powerlifter Yashitika Acharya, a gold medalist in the Junior National Games, tragically passed away during training, the incident took place in a gym in Bikaner district of Rajasthan, where Yashtika Acharya was training.
During the exercise, a 270 kg barbell suddenly fell on her neck, severely injuring her. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors confirmed her death.
According to police officials, Yashtika’s trainer was present at the time of the incident and was supervising her training. During the session, the heavy bar slipped from the trainer’s hands and fell on Yashtika’s neck, breaking it. The trainer also sustained minor injuries but remained safe.
Yashtika Acharya had won a gold medal in powerlifting at the Junior National Games and aspired to represent India in international competitions. Her untimely death has left the sports community and her fans deeply saddened.
