The German Embassy in Islamabad will remain shut today (Monday) amid lockdown in the federal capital.
“Due to the closure of the Islamabad area, the visa section of the German Embassy in Islamabad will remain closed on Monday, November 25,” it announced in a Facebook post on Sunday.
The embassy urged the applicants to come to the embassy for their appointment. “Appointments have been rescheduled,” it said.
Meanwhile, German Ambassador Alfred Grannas shard the same message in a post on X, urging applicants not to attend their scheduled appointments as they would be rescheduled.
It should be noted that In Islamabad, police have blocked several roads, including key entry and exit points, to prevent the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from marching toward the capital.
PTI supporters rallied on Sunday, demanding the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, despite a government-imposed ban on public gatherings.
Earlier this week, the Islamabad High Court ruled that protests or rallies violating the newly enacted law on public assemblies would not be allowed over the weekend due to the visit of the Belarusian president.
