GILGIT BALTISTAN: Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman on Monday visited Skardu quarantine center and said GB administration had taken strict measures to battle coronavirus across the region.
On this occasion, force commander and Chief Secretary were also accompanied with the chief minister and reviewed health facilities for the patients of coronavirus.
Talking to media the chief minister said that the patients are being provided with the best healthcare facilities in the isolation facilities across the region.
He said that all health facilities and protective equipments were provided to doctors and medical staff deputed at the quarantine centers in different districts of the region.
CM said GB government has decided to provide more eight ventilators to Baltistan region as soon as possible. The Chief Minister further said administration will continue its efforts to set up a coronavirus testing laboratory in Baltistan to facilitate people.
He lauded the role of doctors and paramedical staff to save the human lives. He said that they could not much expect from the federal government as center is not seem serious for paying attention on region’s issues.
Hafeez again criticised the role of the federal government in poorly managing issues related to coronavirus process. He pointed out that poor screening processes at the Taftan border had caused widespread virus among pilgrims.
CM and force commander expressed their satisfaction over the available health facilities at the quarantine center and urged for effective care of the infected people during their stay.
