Bollywood much-anticipated movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ starring actress Alia Bhatt will be screened at the Berlin Film Festival.
The actress has come a long way as this is the third time for Alia in at the Berlin Film Festival. She was in Berlin with Imtiaz Ali’s Highway at the beginning of her career in 2014. Then again in 2018 with Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy and now it’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, a movie by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The film will be shown in the prestigious Berlinale Special Galas section today February 16. It will then be released worldwide on February 25. The movie besides Bhatt, also stars Ajay Devgn, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, and Seema Pahwa. The movie is slated to release in cinemas this month on February 25.
The movie was earlier scheduled to release in July 2021 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is Alia Bhatt’s first movie with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
From the very start, Sanjay Leela Bansali has made it clear that his upcoming directorial ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, will be released on the big screen and not on the small screen.

Based on biographical crime-drama, Gangubai Kathiawadi traces the life of a simple girl named Gangubai from Kathiawad who became the most powerful, loved, and respected madams from Kamathipura during the 1960s.
