RAWALPINDI: The district police today (Tuesday) busted a dacoit gang and arrested its three members, inducing a woman, besides recovering cash, mobile phones, and weapons from their possession.
According to details, a police team was constituted under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar, which after hectic efforts managed to arrest three criminals allegedly involved in a number of dacoities and street crimes in different areas.
The gang members confessed to have committed dacoities, cash, mobile snatching and other crimes in different areas. The police also recovered mobile phones, cash, vehicle and weapons from their possession.
A police spokesperson has informed that separate cases have been registered against the arrested accused under provisions of the criminal act. Further investigation is underway.
Earlier today (Tuesday), a man was shot dead outside a private hotel in Rawalpindi after which a suspect was arrested along with his weapon.
The incident occurred in Ratta Amral near the Attock petrol pump where two motorcyclists opened fire outside a private hotel. As a result, a hotel employee Gulzar was shot dead on the spot.
