The first petition of 2025 was filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday, challenging the recent increase in petroleum product prices announced on December 31, 2024. The petition, filed by the Judicial Activism Panel, named the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and other relevant authorities as respondents.
In its application, the petitioners argued that the price hike has caused widespread concern among citizens, who are troubled by the rising costs of essential fuels. The petition claimed that there is no valid justification for the increase in prices and urged the court to declare the hike “null and void.”
