PARIS: French actor Adele Haenel and accused the director Christophe Ruggia of her debut film, The Devils for sexually abusing her for years.
Sources said that in an interview, the 30-year-old actor revealed the horrors of abuse Haenel had endured when she was a minor.
The Devils star recalled the incidents saying “she was the victim of permanent sexual harassment for three years she spent working and promoting her debut film.”
On the other hand, the lawyer of the Ruggia said that he has denied all the claims saying that he had a professional and affectionate relationship with the actress.
The ex partner of director also confessed that she broke up with Ruggia after he confirmed that he was in love with Haenel and their relationship.
Haenel played a role of a girl of autism in the The Devils and received much appreciation for her debut film. She stayed quite about her #metoo story for a long time but decided to go public after the documentary Leaving Neverland about child victims of Michael Jackson.
Haenel who has received French Oscar twice also said, “The experience had traumatised her and that she never wanted to make another film.”
It is pertinent to mention that the French society of film directors (SRF) decided to expel the director from all his ranks in light of accusations made by the French actress.
A statement issued on Monday said, “We want to express our total support, our admiration and recognition of the actress Adele Haenel, who had the courage to speak out after so many years of silence.”
