Four members of a family were found dead in a car, while a fifth person was discovered unconscious, within the jurisdiction of Bhera police station on Friday. The tragic incident was uncovered when officers on routine patrol noticed a car parked by the side of the road near Bhera.
As the officers approached the vehicle to offer assistance, they found five individuals in a state of semi-consciousness. The victims were immediately rushed to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Bhera for medical treatment.
Doctors at the hospital confirmed that four of the family members had passed away, while the fifth, a 30-year-old man named Umar Qasim, remained in critical condition.
What happened to them?
The unfortunate family, hailing from McLeod Road in Lahore, was traveling on Friday from Lahore to Islamabad in a car with the registration number LEF 7339 on the M-2 Motorway. The deceased have been identified as Romila, 60, Mahwish, 30, Samar, 28, and Aun, 4.
After regaining consciousness in the hospital, Umar Qasim informed the police that they had consumed juice while traveling, after which they lost consciousness. The police have recovered the empty juice boxes from the car, which were found to be expired.
The bodies have been transferred to THQ Hospital in Bhalwal for further investigation.
