ISLAMABAD: Former Deputy Director General Revenue / Admin HR Mian Tariq Latif, who was removed from the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad on charges of serious irregularities and corruption handed over assets worth crores of rupees to private contractors.

Former Deputy Director-General of Revenue / Admin / HR on 14th August 2019 advertised in newspapers for collection of professional tax and parking fee from various Union Councils. Offers were sought for parking fees, entry fees and professional tax collection.
According to sources, the former Deputy Director-General of Revenue / Admin / HR, in collaboration with private contractors in exchange for a hefty bribe, issued a work order to collect tax from the locations in excess of the assets auctioned in the newspaper advertisement.
Metropolitan Corporation Administrator Muhammad Hamza Shafqat, Chief Officer Capt. (Retd) Syed Ali Asghar and the current Deputy Director-General Admin / HR Laiq Zaman have maintained a meaningful silence on the illegal activities.

It may be recalled that Syeda Shafaq Hashmi, former administrator of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, had removed Mian Tariq Latif, former deputy director-general of HC / Revenue, who had been posted in MCI for 20 years, on serious allegations of corruption.
After the removal of Mian Tariq Latif from office, the post of Deputy Director General of Revenue was abolished by a special powerful group of CDA.
It was revealed that Tariq Latif Mian had inflicted heavy losses on the national exchequer by manipulating the cord area charges of commercial and residential buildings located in different areas of the federal capital.
