QUETTA: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) today (Monday) claimed to have killed five suspected terrorists, associated with the outlawed BLA, in Balochistan’s Mastung, security officials said.
According to details, the operation was conducted following information provided by an arrested suspect regarding the presence of suspected militants in a compound being used as terrorists’ camp in the Mustang district of the province.
A CTD spokesperson has informed that the militants opened fire at the police when the raid was conducted, triggering a shoot-out, which resulted in the fatalities of the terrorists. However, others managed to flee.
The CTD also recovered 10 kilogrammes of explosives, detonators, and three Kalashanikovs were seized from their possession. The spokesman informed that the terrorists were planning an attack in Quetta. Raids are being carried out to arrest the accomplices of the killed terrorists.
A day earlier, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) informed that the security forces conducted two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) on terrorist hideouts in areas of North Waziristan and South Waziristan.
During intense exchange of fire, four terrorists including terrorist commanders Abdul Adam Zeb alias Dung (TTP Bismillah group), terrorist commander Molvi Mehboob alias Molvi (TTP Sajna group) and terrorist commander Mir Salam alias Anas (TTP Sajna group) killed.
