SHEIKHUPURA: At least five people were killed over an old enmity due to property dispute in Safdarabad, area of Sheikhupura on Friday.
According to details, two groups of people exchanged fire over the property dispute in Safdarabad areas. As a result, five people were killed on the spot.
Sources said the Ishtiaq group and Bagga group were engaged in an old enmity over a property dispute. It further said five people of the Ishtiaq group were on their way to Faisalabad to appear before the court when some unidentified armed masked men riding on a motorcycle opened indiscriminate firing at their car.
Soon after the incident police reached the scene and shifted the bodies into DHQ hospital for medico-legal formalities. Police told the Ishtiaq group had killed the father and son of the Shafi group and now the rival group gunned down five people in order to take revenge.
Citing the incident police further said 25 people have been killed till yet due to an old enmity of these two groups. Police registered FIRs and started a further probe. police said two persons of the rival group also injured in the firing, police added.
