GUJRAT: In an interesting case, five brothers from Gujrat will contest polls against each other in the general elections 2024.
The eldest brother, Chaudhry Abid Raza, will contest for the National Assembly seat, while the other four brothers will fight for the provincial assembly seats.
Chaudhry Shabbir Raza, Chaudhry Naeem and Chaudhry Shahid will contest the polls against each other for the Punjab Assembly constituency PP-28.
Meanwhile, Chaudhry Muhammad Ali will be contesting on PML-N ticket for PP-33.
Chaudhry Shabbir Raza is the ticket-holder of PML-N, while Chaudhry Naeem Raza is from PML-Q.
Chaudhry Shahid Raza will contest the election on the ticket of the PTI.
Today is the last date for allotment of electoral symbols to the candidates for the next general elections.
The process of allotting electoral symbols to the candidates will continue till nine pm.
In a statement, a spokesperson of the Election Commission of Pakistan said the time has been extended for the convenience of candidates and political parties.
