Fitrana, Fidya amount for 2025 in Pakistan announced

The Islamic Ideological Council, has issued the guidelines for Fitrana (almsgiving) and Fasting Fidya (compensation for missed fasting) for this year Ramadan.

The council recommends that a minimum of Rs220 per person be given as Fitrana based on the price of wheat. Those choosing to give other food items will need to pay different amounts: Rs1,650 for dates, Rs2,500 for raisins, and Rs5,000 for dried apricots.

Chairman Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi stressed that Fitrana is a mandatory charity for all Muslims—regardless of gender or status—and must be given before the end of Ramadan.

The guidelines also provide detailed calculations for those who opt to pay Fidya based on different food items. For instance, Fidya for 30 days is calculated at Rs6,600 for wheat, Rs13,500 for barley, Rs49,500 for dates, Rs75,000 for raisins, and Rs150,000 for dried apricots.
