Fire kills 3 minor siblings in Karachi’s Kashmir colony

KARACHI: Three minor siblings were killed while three others sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out in their house in Kashmir Colony early on Tuesday morning.

According to rescue officials, three minor siblings were burned to death. They were identified as one-year-old Umaima, five-year-old Sania, and six-year-old Hamza.

The injured included their parents, Fayyaz and Saeeda, and another 7-year-old named Salma. The deceased and the injured were shifted to a nearby medical facility. The officials said the fire broke out on the ground floor of a two-storeyed building that housed the family.

The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined but is said to have caused by short circuit. Two fire brigade vehicles took part in the firefighting operation.

On Monday, three people were received critical injuries when a gas cylinder exploded in a rickshaw near Jauhar Chowrangi  According to sources, the cylinder that was lying at the rickshaw expooded due to gas leakage. As a result, three people received severe injuries.

Police said three persons received serious injuries as parts of the cylinder hit them. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where the condition of an inured stated to be critical.
