ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has released a directory of all 1210 most wanted terrorists by the agency, along with names and last known addresses along with the reward for capture information.
The FIA’s counter-terrorism wing has released details of the most wanted terrorists and suspects. Among the most wanted accused, 737 are from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 161 from Balochistan, 122 from Punjab, 100 from Sindh, 30 from Gilgit-Baltistan and 32 from Islamabad.
The FIA’s list of most-wanted suspects includes PML-N London leader Nasir Mahmood Butt, MQM leader Altaf Hussain, accused involved in the kidnapping of Ali Haider Gilani, son of Yousuf Raza Gilani, and Mumbai.
The FIA in a statement said since the restoration of democracy and representative Government in 2008, Pakistan has vigorously confronted various terrorist groups with considerable resources, courage and determination.
However, the struggle against terrorism is always very costly and extremely painful. More than 50,000 persons have so far sacrificed their lives in brutal terrorist attacks all over the country especially in FATA, KPK and Baluchistan, it said.
“The causalities include unarmed citizens, elders, political leaders, soldiers and policemen. Terrorists have neither spared women, elderly persons nor innocent children. The national economy continues to suffer losses of billion rupees annually”.
The continued cowardly attacks on polio vaccination volunteers, suicide/IED attacks on schools, mosques, shrines and minorities are some manifestations of terrorists’ aims and objectives. The challenge to curb and contain terrorism in Pakistan is a daunting one, with few parallels in modern history, it added.
