KARACHI: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested an alleged agent of the Indian spy agency RAW in Karachi.
The Anti-Terrorism Wing of the federal agency conducted a raid to bust the terror network and arrested Abdul Jabbar alias Zafar Tension from Gulistan-e-Jauhar area.
According to FIA officials, the suspect was an expert in bomb-making and using modern sophisticated weapons. He was an employee of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KSWB) and had reportedly visited India four times for militant training.
Officials claimed that the suspect was a member of the Muttahida Quami Movement-London (MQM-L) and part of a RAW sleeper cell. The suspect also received funds from a man named Mehmood Siddiqui through a hawala system, which were used in terror financing and target killing.
FIA said the suspect has been in jail on two occasions. He was involved in the attacks on MQM-Haqiqi leader Afaq Ahmed and other activists and received instruction from Mehmood Siddiqui in India.
