GUJRANWALA: A female dancer in Gujranwala, who was hired to dance at a wedding function, was allegedly abducted and raped in a car, according to the police.
According to details, a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered on the complaint of the victim. The victim told police that she was called to the wedding for a dance performance with three of her friends.
“The groom’s cousin kidnapped me from the ceremony at gunpoint, drove near his house and then sexually abused me in his car,” the complaint read. The suspect, identified as Chandu, was drunk and had also beaten the victim, the complaint read.
The Saddar police have also conducted the medical tests of the victims. Meanwhile, on the orders of the City Police Officer (CPO), the police are conducting raids to arrest the accused as soon as possible.
Earlier in December, a case was registered against nine men in Layyah’s Nawankot for raping a woman her two daughters, and daughter-in-law. According to the woman, the men from the village have ‘punished’ her family for her son’s marriage of choice.
The main accused, identified as Zahid Magsi, called the women of the family to Subhani village and kept them at a house forcefully for nine months. “The accused used to threaten to kill her and her family members,” she said.
