Earlier, negotiations between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on budget proposals could not yield conclusive results; however, the talks were termed constructive, and it was agreed to continue the dialogue.
The International Monetary Fund has announced that negotiations with Pakistan on the budget will continue. IMF officials have completed their visit to Pakistan. Following the visit, the IMF stated that constructive negotiations were held with Pakistan on next fiscal year’s budget proposals, broader economic policy, and reforms.
Pakistani officials reaffirmed their commitment to financial stability. However, discussions with Pakistan regarding agreement on budget proposals will continue in the coming days. According to the IMF, the negotiations also covered reforms in the energy sector aimed at improving economic sustainability and reducing costs in the energy sector.
