LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Awais Leghari bashed on Thursday dug at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, saying the latter withdrew nomination papers for Rajanpur’s NA-193 by-poll to avoid defeat.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Mr Leghari took a swipe at the deposed premier, saying, “Imran Khan wanted to maintain his respect in Rajanpur. Imran’s drama of popularity in South Punjab was exposed.”
Continuing to slam Khan, Leghari said, “Imran’s promise of making the province of South Punjab turned out to be fake as the PTI exposed badly in the region.”
I t should be noted that, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday nominated Mohsin Leghari for contesting by-polls on Rajanpur’s NA-193 after the PTI chief Imran withdrew his nomination papers.
Leghari is nephew of Sardar Muhammad Jaffer Khan Leghari whose death left the seat vacant. He has also served as Finance Minister in the PTI’s provincial cabinet in Punjab.
