A father buried his 15-day-old daughter alive in the Tahrushah area of Naushahro Feroze, Sindh, citing poverty as the reason. Police have arrested the accused, identified as Tayyab.
According to local police, Tayyab confessed during interrogation to this grave act, attributing it to financial constraints. He stated that his current financial situation prevented him from affording medical treatment for his infant daughter. Tayyab admitted to placing his daughter in a sack before burying her alive.
A case has been formally lodged against Tayyab, who has confessed to the crime. Authorities have indicated that, pursuant to a court directive, the child’s grave will be opened for forensic examination through postmortem procedures.
In a separate incident reported two weeks ago, a man allegedly buried his sister-in-law and her daughter alive in Hyderabad over a land dispute. Prompt police action upon receiving information from neighbors saved the lives of the two women, though the accused managed to escape.
