Farrukh Habib releases statistics on 7 years of Indian terrorism in Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information Farrukh Habib while releasing statistics on seven years of Indian oppression has said that the Modi government has given free rein to the Indian Army for state terrorism in occupied Jammu and Kashmir as 1,747 since 2014, Kashmiris were targeted.

In a message on social networking site Twitter, Farrukh Habib said that 1,747 people had been subjected to the worst persecution in Kashmir since 2014. In 2020, 40 oppressed Kashmiris were tortured as a result of which 2 people were martyred. The people were intimidated by night raids.

In IIOJK, there are innumerable accounts of barbaric acts, evidences of 1747 victims since 2014. In 2020, torture of 40 innocent Kashmiris resulted in the death of two while locals were threatened throughout night raids to prevent them from raising their voice.

In a tweet, Farrukh Habib said that an attempt was made to intimidate Kashmiris and prevent them from speaking out against oppression. In 2016, Major Nazir Ahmed of the 14th Dogra Regiment of the Indian Army was involved in the abduction. His 4 fingers and legs were amputated, the Indian government did nothing to bring him to justice.

432 victims faced 31 forms of torture.

In his message, Habib wrote that 432 oppressed Kashmiris suffered 31 different forms of violence. 231 were electrocuted, 70 were burnt, 169 were hit by vehicles, and 12 were mutilated. Apart from men, women and children were also subjected to severe torture by the Indian Army.

The Minister of State for Information said that 3,850 women have been raped since 2014. 650 were killed. On October 14, 2019, the government of Occupied Kashmir and the Supreme Court of India acknowledged that 144 children were detained between August and September, the youngest of whom was 9 years old.

Farrukh Habib said that 15,495 operations have been carried out since 2014 and the occupying forces have burnt 6,479 properties that belonged to the oppressed Kashmiris. They were burnt with the consent of the central government to crush the Kashmiris. In 2019, 35 villages near Srinagar were burnt down. Modi gave free rein to the army for terrorism in Kashmir.
