Netflix’s newly released European romantic comedy ‘Faraway’ is a movie featuring the life of a female protagonist who after her mother’s death realizes what she actually wants.
Interestingly, the movie was released on International Women’s Day 2023. Faraway may not be every woman’s story, but seeing the movie, one will feel relatable.
Through this movie, the online streaming platform has ventured quite deep into Europe’s breathtaking beauty, simplicity, and whatnot.
The movie in a nutshell had a thought-provoking plot, plenty of funny moments, and a lot of engaging content; a heart-to-heart conversation.
Faraway follows a story of a woman named Zeynep who lives with her husband, father, and spoiled teenage daughter. She is recovering from the grief of her mother’s death just when she finds out her mother leaves her a house under her name in Croatia.

After one disappointing funeral, and many eerily imbalanced sets of frames, she decides to visit and stay in the house gifted by her mother and that’s when her journey of self-discovery begins.
Of course, this movie turns out to be quite predictable especially with Zeynep discovering womanhood and adventure once again at a later age, but still, it’s worth a watch.
What I loved about the movie was the scenery, the blue door of her house, the places where the movie was shot; the simple and organic lifestyle, and most importantly how a woman’s life does not end after marriage and children; if she has a will, there is always a way.
Hopefully, it manages to gain the recognition it deserves. That’s why ‘Faraway’ is the best Netflix movie you have not watched it.
