ISLAMABAD: A family from Sindh, who is currently residing in Islamabad, has appealed for assistance to pay their debts to a feudal lord.
Husna Sheikh, whose family hails from Kashmore district in Sindh, narrated her ordeal and said that they working for a landlord for over ten years. During this duration, they had borrowed some money but the landlord told them their debts had increased to one million rupees.
She said the family has no house or work in Kashmore and lives in a rented house. The feudal lord told them to work for them until the debt is repaid. The family was unable to pay the amount and fled for Islamabad to escape the feudal lord’s wrath.
The family is now protesting outside the National Press Club in Islamabad. They said they are sitting on the pavement the whole day and neither have any eatables or bedding and often have to go hungry.
Husna Sheikh said she does the money to return to Kashmore. She expressed fear her children may be taken away by the feudal lord if they return. She appealed for assistance to pay off the exorbitant debts imposed on them.
