ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court will hear the case filed against the Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda over filing the false affidavit today.
The IHC judge during the last hearing issued notices to the Election Commission of Pakistan and Faisal Vawda to submit a response till the date designated.
IHC heard the petition filed against Vawda in the same case. Earlier on 11th February, the plea was filed by petitioner lawyer Qadir Khan Mandokhel in which he stated that the resources minister hid his dual citizenship at the time of filing nomination papers for elections.
Vawda held his dual citizenship at the time of the election polls, the petitioner said.
This is not the first time that a petion in the same regard had been filed against Vawda. A petition last month was filed against him in the Islamabad High Court.
Advocate Jehangir Jadoon claimed on behalf of petitioner Mian Mohammad Faisal that the federal minister had sent a fake affidavit to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) while filing his nomination papers.
Vawda was a dual national at the time of filing nomination papers for general elections in 2018. He hid his US citizenship deliberately during the election of 2018.
Moreover, IHC extended the pleas hearing of the dual nationality case filed against Vawda till 18th March.
