After the expansion of its runway, Faisalabad International Airport will be able to accommodate approximately 777 planes, and a modern cargo complex will also be developed once the necessary formalities and approvals are completed, according to Airport Manager Ms. Tasneem Akhtar Jameel.
Speaking to the business community at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), she urged exporters to share their cargo load data to help expedite the process. She noted that several airlines had temporarily halted operations from Faisalabad, but expressed optimism that they would resume soon.
Ms. Jameel mentioned that new airlines would be assigned slots based on demand, with no obstacles to their allocation. “Unlike Lahore, 100% of passenger baggage is being scanned at Faisalabad,” she stated.
She also asserted that Faisalabad has been recognized as the safest and most secure airport in the country. Earlier, FCCI President Mr. Rehan Naseem Bharara highlighted that Faisalabad gained international recognition in aviation when international flights commenced from the city in 2014-15, thanks to the efforts of the FCCI.
