KARACHI: An ex-wife allegedly threw acid on a young man for not remarrying her in Sindh capital result in burning him.
According to details, the incident took place in the Nagan Chowrangi area of Karachi. The victim’s family has alleged that his ex-wife tricked him into meeting her through two boys.
The family of the victim claims that the accused got divorced nine months ago and was insisting on remarriage after the divorce. Police say the accused reached the police station and accused her ex-husband of throwing acid.

New Karachi police said that the man’s face, chest, and other parts of his body were burnt with acid and he was shifted to hospital for medical treatment. The case will be registered after taking the statement of the victim at the hospital.
It may be recalled that earlier in a quarrel in Liaqatabad, a neighbour threw acid on the sacrificial animal of a neighbor. When the accused was arrested, the victim was released.
In Liaqatabad No. 8 areas of Karachi, a quarrel broke out among the neighbors over the installation of street lights. Later, a violent neighbour threw acid on the victim’s sacrificial animal. Last month, police arrested the man who threw acid on the sacrificial animal, but the man was later released after the animal’s owner refused to take legal action.
One year ago today, two accused, including a woman, threw acid on two women in a property dispute in Karachi, after which a case was registered against the accused. The tragic incident took place in August 2020 in Shah Latif Town area of Karachi where the accused along with his sister acid-attacked two women for a plot.
