LAHORE: Former Pakistani actor Talat Siddiqui has passed away in Lahore late night on Saturday at the age of 82, his family confirmed on Sunday.
According to details, Talat Siddiqui had been down with a fever after which she hospitalized at a private hospital. Sources close to the film and TV star claimed that she had been sick for quite some time.
Siddiqui became a recognized name through her work on radio, before she moved towards the cinema. Known for hits Dilnasheen, Kaliya and Haider Sultan, the veteran actor had bid adieu to the industry 30 years ago. She was the mother of Pakistani actor Arifa Siddiqui and the aunt of singer Fariha Pervez.
Earlier on May 6, Pakistani actress Sumbul Shahid, who was hospitalised after contracting coronavirus, has passed away. Sumbul, who is a sister of known TV actress Bushra Ansari and Asma Abbas, was on the ventilator battling the deadly virus since last month.
The star graced in many dramas like Malika-e-Aliya, Ishqaaway and Takay Ki Ayegi Baraat. She was best known for her work in Golden Girls and was widely popular for her role in Dolly Ki Ayegi Baraat. Her last appearance was in the drama Nand with Shahroz Shabzwari, Minal Khan, Ijaz Aslam and others stars.
