RIYADH: The details of the NEOM, the smart and sustainable regional development in northwest Saudi Arabia, have been revealed, which is nearing completion. 9 lakh people will live in the city spread over 170 km.
According to the details, the city will be the center and beating heart of the $5 billion project Neom. Giles Pendleton, THE LINE’s executive director, said that the city will be car-free and will use modern technology.
Giles Pendleton said that the city will be run on clean energy and artificial intelligence, the construction of which began in April last year, while the first area of the city, the marina, will be ready for exhibition by 2030.
Pendleton praised the project team’s dedication to building this modern city, highlighting the existing infrastructure, transportation networks, and utility systems as critical elements for success.
They say that using modern construction methods is faster, safer, and produces higher quality results than traditional methods. Marina excavation is currently at its peak.
An integrated control center enables 24-hour monitoring of activities to ensure efficiency and transparency, while the multi-billion dollar central project Neom was envisioned by Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Neom, the most modern city in the world, includes a smart town, ports, research centers, sports and entertainment venues, and a tourist hub. The luxury island Sandala is also part of Neom, which is slated to open in 2024.
This will be the first project to be completed under Neom. Here Oxagon will be the world’s largest floating infrastructure and its commercial and industrial arm Tergena is also a key part of the project.
As the centerpiece and beating heart of Neom, Dalian will redefine urban development by prioritizing three-dimensional design to address challenges such as inequality and climate change.
