Rapper Eminem’s latest track ‘Houdini’ has sparked controversy after references to singer Megan Thee Stallion’s shooting incident surfaced.
In the song, part of his upcoming album ‘The Death of Slim Shady,’ Eminem rapped, “If I was to ask for Megan Thee Stallion if she would collab with me/Would I really have a shot at a feat?”
The lyric directly indicates the 2020 incident where Megan was shot in the feet by Tory Lanez. Social media erupted with backlash, with fans expressing disappointment saying, “Men love to bring up traumatic moments in women’s lives for attention. Leave Megan alone.”
Furthermore, Eminem’s track also takes aim at other celebrities, including RuPaul, Sherri Papini, and R. Kelly, stirring additional controversy.
The song notably features Eminem referring to his children with ex-wife Kim Scott as “brats.” His project will serve as his 12th album and follows 2020’s Music to Be Murdered By, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
He originally announced planned for the album shortly after his appearance at the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit. He teased his own version of an Unsolved Mysteries episode featuring a cameo from 50 Cent. However, it was actually Dr. Dre who revealed the details about Eminem’s upcoming album during a late-night appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in March.
