ISLAMABAD: The final list of constituencies has been released and according to the list released under the census, there are 266 seats in the National Assembly.
According to the details, the final list of constituencies was released by the Election Commission of Pakistan. With reserved seats for minorities and women, the total number of seats in the National Assembly will be 336, while the constituencies of the general seats of the Provincial Assembly will be 593.
The number of general seats in the Punjab Assembly will be 297, Sindh 130, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly 115, and Balochistan Assembly 51. The Election Commission said that the final list of constituencies was completed under the digital census process.
After the digital census, the number of seats allocated for Karachi in the National and Provincial Assembly has increased. National Assembly will have one seat in Karachi while Provincial Assembly will have 4 additional seats. It should be noted that earlier the preliminary list of constituencies was released.
The Election Commission released the preliminary list of constituencies in late September. The date of submission of suggestions and objections on constituencies was given from September 28 to October 27, and the decision was taken by November 26, while the final list was released yesterday on November 30.
