ISLAMABAD: PM’s Special Assistant on Information, Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that effective measures were being taken for the rights of media persons.
Talking to media in Islamabad, Firdous Awan expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of a private media channel’s cameraman Fayyaz Ali.
Firdous Awan announced one million rupees as compensation to the bereaved family. She assured to provide a job to Fayyaz’s brother in the Ministry of Information along with a house for his family.
She said that salary-related issues of media workers would be resolved soon after talks with media moguls and journalists’ bodies.
Referring to the earthquake in Turkey, the special assistant expressed sorrow over the loss of dozens of people in Turkey, adding, “Turkey is our friend and Pakistan is standing beside Turkey in this time of difficulty.
