ISLAMABAD: The sources have informed that educational institutions will likely remain closed for a few more days.
According to sources, health department officials said that the second wave of coronavirus is very severe and requires extreme caution. Expressing its concerns, the health department said that if educational institutions would be opened, the cases of coronavirus could increase.
However, sources have informed that during the meeting, the reopening of schools from 18th January will be extended to a few more days. Moreover, after a meeting of education ministers, it will be finally decided that educational institutions would be opened or not.

A meeting of education ministers is being held today regarding the opening of educational institutions. Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood will chair the meeting. In this regard, he said that a meeting of education ministers and health ministers will be held today to review the decision to open educational institutions.
Earlier, Shafqat Mahmood also tweeted where he had expressed that before the students start coming to the schools, there will be a meeting of the ministers of education and health in which the situation of coronavirus will be reviewed.

As per Shafqat Mahmood, universities were scheduled to open from 18th January from class IX to XII, from 25th January to class VIII, and from 1st February, universities. It was also decided in the last conference of education ministers that the situation in coronavirus will be reviewed this month and a final decision will be made.
