Earlier Prime Minister Imran Khan hademphasised on the need for a uniform education curriculum across the country to eliminate the class divide among students created by the current education system.
He said that enforcement of a uniform educational curriculum would unify the nation and eliminate the societal divisions “A uniform education system is not only a requirement of modern times but also the basic right of every child,” the prime minister had said last month while chairing a meeting.
“The existing system is a hurdle to the unity of the nation; rather it alienates children from Pakistan. And this has happened in every society with colonial footprints,” he added.
He said the success of this system depends on the selection of teaching staff and capacity building. He said the new policy will be possible to get a quality education in Pakistan and a uniform education system will set an example for other countries in the region.
He has maintained that the National Education Policy besides bringing improvement in the quality of education would also empower all segments of the society and provide equal opportunities.
